Jaabir narrates that the ruler of the time, Yazid Ibn Muaawiya, sent a
proposal for the daughter of Abu Darda Radhi Allaahu Anhu. The
proposal was rejected. One of the coutiers of Yazid requested for
permission from Yazid to send a proposal for himself. Yazid was not
too happy with the idea but gave his permission eventually. This
person then sent a proposal for her and it was accepted. People could
not understand why a ruler's proposal had been rejected while that of
an ordinary person had been accepted.

Abu Darda Radhi Allaahu Anhu explained, "I looked towards the best
interests of my daughter, Dardaa. What would have happened to her if
palace servants and slaves would be at her service and everything
around her would be glitter and glamour? What would have been the
status of her religious matters at that time?" (Sifatus Safwah, p227).

Lesson

Undisciplined exposure to wealth commonly produces men and women who
are unduly attached to worldly pleasures, arrogant in their manner and
reluctant to accept their weaknesses. Many parents encourage their
sons and daughters to base their selection of a marriage partner upon
wealth and financial status, while little attention is placed upon
religious standing. This very often leads to disastrous consequences
with regard to their Islamic future and that of their offspring. On
the other hand, spouses whose religion takes priority over material
things are guided by Quraan and Sunnah at the crossroads of life. A
marriage based upon religious principles produces families that are
concerned with permanent success in the Hereafter rather than the
temporary pleasures of this fleeting world.

CHEMOTHERAPY...VERY INTERESTING

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY ('TRY', BEING
THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL
YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins:

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up
in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors
tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after
treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells
because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

3 When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed
and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional
deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle
factors..

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and
including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also
destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal
tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages
healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor
size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more
tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the
immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb
to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become
resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to
spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not
feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply..

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important
food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,
Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural
substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts.
Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative
is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal
tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with
unsweetened soy milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and
it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat
also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are
all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and
a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can
be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live
enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15
minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes
for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables
including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes
are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a
better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Water-best to drink
purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap
water.. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

f. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes.
Undigested meat remaining in the intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more
toxic buildup.

g. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or
eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer
cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

h. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-
oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own killer cells
to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause
apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of
damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

h. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive
spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, un-forgiveness and
bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have
a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

i. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily,
and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen
therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

1. No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information
is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin
chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous
to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in
them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.. Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto,
Wellness Program Manager at Cast le Hospital, was on a TV program to explain
this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He
said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic
containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the
combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and
ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such
as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food You get the same
results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen
and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something
else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer
to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some
of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The
dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous
when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the
high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and
drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

SANHA

South African National Halaal Authority (SANHA)

Grains of Truth for the Cereal Consumer

No.35
March 2010 : Rabiul Awwal 1431

Half a century of scientific research shows that a healthy breakfast is the most
important meal of the day. It has been linked with less chronic disease,
increased longevity and better health. A good breakfast kick starts your body
metabolism boosts your energy, increases your attention span, heightens your
sense of well-being and puts you in better control of your emotions. A good
breakfast is one that provides at least one third of the day's calories. When
you get up in the morning, your glucose or blood sugar level is at its lowest
point in the day. Glucose is the basic fuel for the brain and central nervous
system.
Breakfast meals vary widely in different cultures around the world but often
include a carbohydrate such as cereal or rice, fruits and/or vegetables,
protein, sometimes a dairy product and a healthy drink. Muslims are governed by
the various injunctions of dietary laws enshrined in the Noble Quran one of
which reads "...eat of what is on the earth, lawful and good..." Chapter 2,
Verse 168

Cereals certainly live up to their billing as a nutritious source of breakfast
fuel for our bodies and several brands have met SANHA's stringent Halaal
certification standards. For a list of SANHA Halaal Certified cereals, click
here

Recently, SANHA responded to several queries on the internet on Kelloggs cereals
which does not appear to have been understood in its correct context. To further
aggravate the situation an extremist tabloid rag circulated virulent statements
in the matter with their own malicious and inaccurate constructions. Our factual
position in the matter is that we have received queries from our members as to
whether pork gelatine is used in the manufacture of products sold by Kelloggs
South Africa. This concern arose from a statement issued by the Consumer Affairs
department of Kelloggs North America to the effect that gelatine derived from
pork is contained in certain of the cereal products manufactured by Kelloggs
United States.

"Kelloggs South Africa has advised SANHA in a letter dated 8 February 2010 that
"Kelloggs SA does not manufacture, import or sell any products in South Africa
which contain gelatine". In the same letter, Kelloggs SA points out that they
have no control over the importation by independent distributors of products
manufactured by Kelloggs in the United States which may be imported into South
Africa. Kelloggs SA has declined a request from SANHA that SANHA inspect
Kelloggs SA's South African manufacturing facilities so as to verify Kelloggs
SA's claim and so as to provide an assurance to SANHA's consumers. Accordingly,
SANHA is not in a position to comment on the Halaal status of Kelloggs SA's
products. Any queries regarding their products must be directed to their
company."

URGENT

Hi All,
Please please read the following… we also had a little bit of a freaky
experience in Kidds Beach this afternoon 22/01/2010, we don’t know if it is
anything to get worked up about however feel that you need to know and be alert.
I was fetch Matt from the middle shop and when climbing into the car I noticed a
lady sitting on the deck and it looked like she was taking photos of us with her
phone… when I stared at her she looked away quickly and put her phone down… as I
said it may be nothing however feel that we all maybe need to be alert of the
trafficking of children and don’t take for granted this peaceful little village
we live in.
Take care,
Amanda Simpson

My cousin had a similar experience at the Pavillion Shopping Centre just outside
Durban last week. She was standing paging through a book in Exclusive Books,
with her son (aged 6 yrs) standing in front of her, when a white male (approx.
mid thirties) who’d been standing next to them put his arm around her son and
said “come on son”. She reacted immediately and grabbed the man on his
shoulder. Simultaneously (they were near the entrance of the shop) she happened
to notice a white woman (standing just outside the shop) give the man a slight
shake of the head. The man immediately let go of my nephew – apologising
profusely that he’d mistaken him for his own son and left with the woman outside
the shop. They had NO children with them!!!!!!!

This is NOT a joke! Be alert and VERY careful and teach your children not only
to not go off with strangers but also to scream and kick up a terrible fuss
should any stranger approach them / take hold of them!

Should something out of the ordinary happen – PLEASE alert the authorities
immediately. Perhaps if enough people can identify these individuals and give
information on their modus operandi we might actually catch some of them – or at
least make is SERIOUSLY difficult for them to operate!

Take care and God Bless
Karen Taylor

An incident happened to a friend of ours last week at Walmer Spar where her
daughter ran to get something in the shop for her Mom, she ran back saying
"those ladies took my photo and said that I am beautiful". The Mom immediately
went looking for them and grabbed the cell phone from 1 of 3 Nigerian women. On
the phone were other pictures of boys and girls. She deleted her daughter's
pictures and tried to get security but they got away. PLEASE PLEASE be aware
that PE is not the same safe place it used to be and don't let your children out
of your sight - read the stories below and be safe.

Hi There,

My mom-in-law works for the SAP and they had a meeting this week about the 2010
world cup. They (the SAP) say that we have to guard our children more than gold
(this goes for girls AND boys) and women should not go to shopping centres
during May, June, July, without having a male to escort them – we must remember
that loads of Africans (Nigerians, so forth) will be coming to SA and that sex &
drug trading is a reality, please take it seriously.

Best would be to stock up on necessities so you don’t need to go to town often,
things like fuel, water, food, ect.

Rather over prepare and nothing happens, than not be prepared and something do.

Please forward to others that have children – even if they don’t, they might
know people with children.

Thank you,

Illse Marx

The Beard

I came to eat dinner in my halls of residence one day last year when two
sisters started laughing at me; I had some food stuck in my beard. They
went on to innocently and honestly mock my beard saying it was messy,
unnatural and unhygienic. Little did they know the rage that I felt as a
result of this and I channeled this rage by unleashing my anger through
my pen and out came this poem.

I performed this poem in the Leicester University/DMU Islamic Societies
and Eid Celebration and it was received with much laughter and acclaim -
Alhamdulillah. Due to popular demand and many requests I have decided to
type my poem up and email it to my friends in Islam. Let me remind you
all not to be offended as this is no fatwa or religious statement - just
a funny poem that spontaneously was produced as a result of my
unfortunate experience...

Tushar (12th March 2001)

"Glorified be He who beautifies women with long locks of hair
And Men with long beards
There is beauty in the beard
Aye, there is beauty in the beard!

When the lion roars all the animals submit
For the lion is the king of the jungle
The lion with its glorious mane
And a Muslim man grows his mane in pride
Showing the rest of humanity that he is to be respected
Can one imagine a lion without its mane?
Nay, thou canst not!
Then imagine a man without his beard

Woe to worldly women who mock the beards so!
Desiring husbands with clean shaven faces
Woe to women who mock the Prophets Sunnah
In the name of hygiene, neatness and smooth texture
Indeed the women of this world cannot like the beard
But she who wants Paradise adores the beard!

A beard is a gift given to man
Something only he can grow; a woman never can!
When he ponders, he gently strokes it;
When he eats, it stores food;
When he is with kids, they play with it adoringly;
When he is with his wife, she fondles it lovingly;
When the enemy see it, fear is struck in their hearts!
Ah! there is indeed beauty in the beard!

All the Prophets had beards - yes they did!
Muhammad had a beard - so big! so big!
All the companions had beards - o yes! o yes!
All the sages had beards - I know! I know!
All the wise have beards - tis true! tis true!
All the pious have beards - you see! you see!
All the Muslims have beards!? - if only! if only!

Who did not have beards? The kafirun!
Who had clean shaven faces? The kafirun!
Who grew their moustaches? The kafirun!
"And what did our Prophet order?" I here you ask
He ordered us to lengthen the beard and trim the moustache!
Lengthen the beard and trim the moustache!
What greater reason that this can there be
The fact that our Prophet told us to see
That we make ourselves appear to the world
As full bearded men with honour untold

O Muslim brother! Why do you desire to look like a woman
When your blessed facial hair is the differece between you and the
opposite gender?
O poor Muslim brother! Why do you imitate the kafir
Instead of following the Prophet of Islam?
O silly Muslim sister! Why are you so blind?
Infatuated with Bollywood actors who have no mind!
O wretched sister! Are you not scared of your choice?
You would rather have a feminine monkey instead of an exalted manly ape!

So indeed I love my beard
And adore the curls and tangles
Which no oil, gel or superglue can ever straighten
My glorious long, curly, messy, fluffy beard!
The playhouse for kids;
The envy of Malaysian people
And the beloved of Allah!
I maybe rejected by worldly women because of this hair on my face
But who care! For my Mum loves it and she puts all such sisters to disgrace!
Be patient Muslim brothers, who shun the trendy look for a Prophetic pose
Paradise with the wide eyed Houris is our final abode!!!!!"

The new AMERICAN Quran: a dangerous trick A new Quran
Is being distributed in Kuwait , titled 'The True
Furqan'. It is being described as the ayats of the
Shaytan and Al-Furqan weekly magazine has found out
That the two American printing companies;'Omega 2001'
And 'Wine Press' are involved in the publishing of
'The True Furqan', a book which has also been titled
'The 21st Century Quran'! It is over 366 pages and is
Inboth the Arabic and English languages....it is being
Distributed to our children in Kuwait in the private

English schools! The book contains 77 Surats, which
Include Al-Fatiha, Al-Jana and Al-Injil. Instead of
Bismillah, each Surat begins with a longer vesion of
This incorporating the Christian belief of the three
Spirits.

And
This so! Called Quran opposes many Islamic
Beliefs. In one of its ayats it describes having more
Than one wife as fornication, divorce being
Non-permissible and it uses a new system for the
Sharing out of the will, opposing the current one. It
States that Jihad is HARAAM.

This book even goes as far as attacking Allah,

Stop this dangerous trick.

The Ummah of today have abandoned salah but if we knew what it was worth
we would never miss another prayer again, not for any wedding or party.
I never used to pray but after I read this I regretted every salaat I
ever missed.

Ka'b(R.A.) says that he saw in the Taurat that Allah Ta'ala said to
Musa(a.a.): 'O Musa! For the two rakaats of Fajr prayer that Ummah of
Muhammad (s.a.w) will perform, We will forgive all their sins of the
whole day and night and enter them into the fort of Our security.

O Musa! For each of the four rakaats of Zuhr, which the Ummah of
Muhammad perform, the reward is seperate. For the first rakaat, the
reward is forgiveness of sins, for the second rakaat, the reward is that
his good deeds will be made heavy on the Day of Judgment, for the third
rakaat, the reward is the angels making Du'a for their forgiveness and
asking My mercy for them; for the fourth rakaat, the reward is the
opening of the doors of Heaven and the damsels of Paradise looking at
them.

O Musa, when Our last Prophet and his Ummah will pray the four rakaats
of Asr salat, there will be no angel on earth and heaven who will not
pray for their forgiveness. And we will not punish those for whom the
angels pray for forgiveness.

O Musa, when Our last Prophet's Ummah will pray the three rakats at the
time of Maghirib, then the doors of the heavens will be opened, and We
will fulfill whatever they will ask.

O Musa, the four rakaats of Isha are better than all the earth's kingdom
and wealth. After performing this salat, they will be as purified of
their sins, as a new born baby.'

Now you read this I hope you never miss another salaat. To help other
brothers n sisters plz copy n paste this message on to all the people on
your contact list.

Please keep passing this on...JUST A SMALL REALITY CHECK...not the
AUTHOR, just His humble servant:

The beauty of saying: " Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi Rajeoon " The meaning
of " Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi Rajeoon " & Seven names of Allah
Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi Rajeoon

Yeah, sure we UTTER this statement when someone dies. Also some of us may
sometimes say this sentence when they lose something, suffer a setback or
harm.
But...........do you know what it means?

Sure, everyone knows that it obviously means 'To Allah we belong and to Him
is our return.'

But that's not what I am talking about.
I mean ....do you REALLY, TRULY understand these words and their
implications in a Muslim's life?
It means ....whatever we have is not really ours. It belongs to Allah.

Take a look around you; everything you see, all that you have and all
that there is....in you, on you, around you.....belongs to Allah, alone.
It is Allah Who has given you all the property and goods you possess,
and that He is the true Owner of them all.

So the fancy cars that you own, the houses that you live in, the businesses
you possess all truly be long to Allah

The children that He blessed you with, the health that He gave you, the
time
that He has allowed you are all Allah's property.
Even the bodies we live in and the life that we have, belongs to Allah
alone.

"And to Allah belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth...."
(Surah Aal-Imraan:180)

"The kingdom of the heavens and the earth and everything in them belongs
to Allah. He has power over all things." ( Surat al-Ma'ida: 120)

'Say: 'To Allah belongs the East and the West...' (Surah al-Baqarah:142)

Now, since everything belongs to Allah, then we have to include even our
souls in that list..
The very souls that we think of as our "self"; our "Nafs"; our "being"
-- whatever you want to call it -- that very thing that distinguishes
you from the rest of the world, belongs to Allah. It's not YOURS.

In fact, YOU are not YOURS. You belong to Allah.

And this is the essence of the concept of obedience to Allah in Islam.

And since He is the true Possessor of everything, and everything is His
property, He allots what He wills to whomever He wills...and then He
takes it away. After all, it was Allah's to begin with.
So He may give you something and then take it back after a while..

He will bless you with a precious child that you love dearly...and then
 He may take it away.
He will grant you money, honor and status.....and then He may take it away.
He will give you youth, vitality and health and then surely He will take it
away.
In fact everything you have will only be with you for a very short while.
And then the Owner will claim His Right.
So when Allah does reclaim what was rightfully His, WHY MOURN OUR LOSSES?

Just like a friend who lends you his book. And then after a few days, he
wants it back and you give it back to him...no regrets......no sorrow....no
questions asked.
Similarly, if Allah takes back some of His blessings upon you for some
reason....so be it.
Say "Alhamdulillah" (THANK YOU, My Lord).

 Don't grieve.

 Be patient.

Submit to the will of Allah, being pleased with His decision for you.
For surely He will only do what is best for you.

Just think.....The Owner came and took it back.
Remember....that you're not the real owner.....you were NEVER the real
owner to begin with. You only had everything because it was Allah who
gave it to you in the first place. If He didn't give it to you, you
wouldn't have had it in any way...in fact, you couldn't have had it.
Remember......man enters into this world empty handed...and leaves it empty
handed.

Remember....that everything we have, all the blessings we enjoy, are
gifts from Almighty Allah....gifts that we enjoy for a limited period
until He takes them away whenever He deems fit.

They are a trust from Allah...a loan to you.....to see how you respond
to these gifts from Allah and how you use them......in the obedience of
the Almighty, thanking Him and worshipping Him......OR...........to the
disobedience to the One Who gave then to you in the first place.

Take note of the words of the Prophet (Sal Ya Allahu Alaiyhi wa Salaam) on
the occasion of the death of his son, Ibrahim:

'Our eyes are filled with tears, our hearts with grief, but we say
nothing with our lips except that which pleases Allah..... Verily, to
Allah we belong, and to Him we return.' (Bukhaari) WE DO NOT TAKE AWAY
INNOCENT LIVES ~ WE LIVE & LET LIVE, as it is ALLAH's WILL.

And we all know the famous incidence about the companion Abu Talha and
his wife when one of the sons died and Abu Talha was not at home. She
washed and shrouded him and when Abu Talha came home and asked about his
son, she said, 'The child is quiet and I hope he is in peace....'
(Bukhaari)

 Subhan Allah.....such patience!
And such Imaan (faith) in the statement " Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi
Rajeoon "!

She truly understood its meaning and the affect it should have on her
life as a Muslimah, submitting to him and being pleased with whatever He
 has decreed for her.

She knew that whatever she has, is not truly hers. Rather, it is
Allah's....
and He took back whatever He owns at its appointed time.
And it is because of this Imaan (faith) so strong, this understanding, that
the
Prophet (Sal Ya Allahu Alaiyhi wa Salaam) made Dua for them and Allah
blessed them immensely.

"They (i.e. Abu Talha and his wife) had nine sons and all of them became
reciters of the Quran (by heart)." (Bukhaari)

"Be sure we will test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss
in goods or lives, but give glad tidings to those who are steadfast, who
say when afflicted with calamity: 'To Allah we belong and to him is our
return. (" Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi Rajeoon")

They are those on who (descend) blessings from Allah and mercy
and they are the once that receive guidance." (al-Baqarah: 155)

The Prophet (PBUH) said 'Pass on knowledge from me even if it is only

Islamic Perspectives on Inter-Community Relations
By Maulvi Yahya Nomani
The issue of what Islam has to say about inter-community relations is one
about which much misunderstanding exists. Anti-Muslim propagandists claim that
Islam preaches hatred for non-Muslims, and that the Quran is a menace to world
peace. They go so far as to argue that world peace is simply impossible as long
as the Quran exists. In order to back their propaganda, they have deliberately
twisted and misinterpreted certain verses of the Quran. Many people with little
knowledge have fallen prey to this poisonous propaganda, which has been
aggressively spread on an enormous scale through the media.

Some Muslims themselves entertain misunderstandings and extremist views about
the issue of relations between Muslims and others that are based on a
completely wrong interpretation of the Quran and the Sunnah, the practice of
the Prophet. This calls for a detailed study, so that misunderstandings, wrong
interpretations and extremist views about Islamic teachings regarding relations
between Muslims and others can be countered.

Respect for the Human Race
Islam teaches that all human beings, irrespective of community or race, are
children of the same set of primal parents, and, so, are bound together by
their common humanity. As the Quran states:
"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and
made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may
despise each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is
(he who is) the most righteous of you." (Quran 49:13).
This basic Islamic teaching about the whole of humankind being children of the
same parents stresses the need for consciousness of our common humanity and of
us being brothers unto each other. This is why, according to a hadith report,
the Prophet would, after finishing his prayers, supplicate with God, saying, 'O
Allah! Sustainer of myself and of everything! I bear witness that all human
beings are brothers of each other.'

According to the Quran, human beings are creatures worthy of respect: "We have
honoured the sons of Adam [.]and conferred on them special favours, above a
great part of Our Creation." (Quran 17:70)

This clearly indicates that Islam regards human beings as deserving respect,
love and concern on the basis of their humanity. A hadith report well
illustrates this teaching. Once, the Prophet was present along with some of his
disciples when a funeral procession passed by. The Prophet stood up. Seeing the
Prophet stand out of respect for the dead man, some of his companions informed
him that the man had been a Jew. But, the Prophet responded, 'Was he not a
human being?' After the Prophet, some of his companions, too, followed this
example of his, as is related in the books of Hadith compiled by Bukhari and
Muslim.

The Bond of Nation/Community (Qaum)
Islam recognizes a certain sort of brotherhood and feeling of oneness among
members of the same community/nation as an established fact. This is expressed
in the Quran in the form of various prophets, such as Hud, Saleh, Shoeb and so
on, addressing the non-Muslim members of their communities as brothers, and, in
this way, accepting a relationship of nation- or community-based brotherhood
between Muslims and non-Muslims belonging to the same nation or community. When
these prophets of God preached His message to their own people (who were not
Muslims, or 'submitters' to God), they addressed them as 'ya qaum' or 'O my
people', appealing to their hearts and reminding them of the common bond of
community that they shared with them. This clearly indicates the sort of
concern and love that Muslims should adopt when addressing their non-Muslim
compatriots and in seeking to cement bonds with them.

Kind Behaviour Towards Non-Muslims: Some Examples
Various Islamic teachings and Sunnah or practice of the Prophet indicate the
kindness and concern that non-Muslims deserve from Muslims. The Quran mentions
that needy non-Muslims are deserving of the financial assistance of Muslims,
and that, therefore, they should be helped. In the Surah Al-Baqara of the
Quran, God says that guiding others to the faith is not the work of human
beings, and that God guides whom He wills. The Quran adds that we must not
refuse to help a needy person simply because he or she refuses to accept Islam.
It says that we shall be rewarded for whatever we spend in God's way:

"It is not required of thee (O Messenger) to set them on the right path but
Allah guides to the right path whom He pleaseth. Whatever of good ye give
benefits your own souls and ye shall only do so seeking the "Face" of Allah.
Whatever good ye give, shall be rendered back to you and ye shall not be dealt
with unjustly." (Quran 2:272)
This verse indicates that while providing financial help to others it is not
necessary to distinguish between those who accept Islam and those who do not.
In other words, all needy people are deserving of such help.

Reconciliation and Kind-Heartedness
Islam stresses kindness towards relatives, especially close relations, so much
so that it says that God declares war against he who does not fulfill his
responsibilities towards his relatives (Masnad Ahmad 1684; Sahih al-Bukhari
5987-5989). It also declares that those who sunder their relations with their
relatives will have no place in heaven (Sahih Muslim, 2556).

Kindness towards and reconciliation with relatives applies to all. Muslim as
well as non-Muslim. It is their right. Islam seeks to cement relations, not to
destroy them. Thus, non-Muslim relatives have all the rights over a Muslim, so
much so that the Quran lays down that if a Muslim's parents are not Muslim
themselves, and even if they seek to pressurize their Muslim son or daughter to
abandon Islam, they must be treated well under all conditions, although one
should not yield to their pressure.

The mother of Abu Hurairah, a companion of the Prophet, used to say bad things
about the Prophet, but Abu Hurairah tolerated this. When he complained about
her behavior to the Prophet, the latter prayed for her, rather than expressing
hatred for her. Because of this, she was guided (Sahih al-Muslim, 2491).

The mother of Hazrat Asma bint Abu Bakr was a polytheist. In the wake of the
Treaty of Hudaibiyah between the Muslims, led by the Prophet, and the Meccan
pagans, relatives from both sides were able to meet each other. At this time,
Hazrat Asma's mother came to Medina to meet her, bringing along with her some
gifts. Hazrat Asma thought of reciprocating this gesture by giving her mother
some presents when she was returning. However, she hesitated for a bit, not
sure if Islam allowed for Muslims to present gifts to their non-Muslim
relatives. Accordingly, she approached the Prophet and asked him if she should
seek to strengthen her ties (silah rahmi) with her mother. In reply, the
Prophet said she must, and instructed her to give her gifts. (Sahih al-Bukhari
2602; Fath al-Bari).
Other Social Relations between Muslims and Others .

While Muslims have been forbidden to engage in such relations with non-Muslims
that might undermine or destroy their religious distinctiveness, Islam stresses
that Muslims must relate with concern, and a high standard of morality with non-
Muslims in order to create a better society. Treating neighbours kindly is such
an important Islamic teaching that in the corpus of Hadith, narrations relating
to the Prophet, it has been said that not abiding by this teaching can
sometimes even lead to the danger of one's own faith being taken away. The
Prophet thrice proclaimed that he who is a source of discomfort to his
neighbour is not a true believer (momin) (Sahih al-Bukhari, 6016).

One aspect of the life of the Prophet, which serves as a model for Muslims to
emulate, is that even if an enemy is in great trouble one should supplicate for
him with God. On the one hand, the Prophet would beseech God to punish bloody
oppressors, but, on the other hand, we see the Prophet helping the Quraish of
Mecca, who stiffly opposed him, when they were faced with a severe famine. In
that critical situation, Abu Sufiyan, the Quraish leader who had stridently
opposed the Prophet, came to him. Invoking their relationship, he said that the
Quraish, the tribe that the Prophet himself belonged to, were dying, and
requested him to beseech God. The Prophet prayed to God, and because of his
prayer the situation was cured (Sahih Bukhari, 4824).

Commensality or eating together has great importance in building relationships.
The Prophet used to invite non-Muslims for meals. Expressing concern for the
oppressed and distressed, irrespective of religion, is something basic for good
social ties, and the Prophet Muhammad also abided by this. He would visit the
homes of non-Muslims when they were sick, to enquire about their health (Sahih
al-Bukhari 5657). The Prophet also gave gifts to non-Muslims, and courteously
accepted the gifts that they presented him with, as has been recorded in the
books of Hadith.

From these references to the shariah and the Sunnah, the practice of the
Prophet Muhammad, it is clear that Islam stands for humanitarianism, love,
concern, compassion, large-heartedness and good behaviour with people of other
faiths, in general. That is to say, if a person who follows another faith is
not an oppressor or an enemy of Islam or a conspirator or is not waging war
against Muslims, Islam considers him or her worthy of help and solidarity and
stresses respect for his or her humanity.

Slm, HI

I have taken a picture of Aunty Soekayna, she is very confused and believes
that the year is 1981. We have taken care of her and have taken her to Baitul
Banaat as they have a care facility for her special requirements.

Please try to remember if you may have seen her in Fordsburg or in town as she
talks of trains a lot so we think she may have been sleeping at the Park
Station. She did not have any identity information on her and tells me that a
Frank Gomes has her ID document and pension card.

We are happy to take care of the costs for her upkeep and are NOT asking for
any financial assistance. We would just like to get her ID documents so that we
can make sure she gets her pension and not someone else, as well as we will
need it for the hospitals for her medication.

Please help us find her family or help with a clue of who may have been “taking
care” of her so that we can get her ID book back. We have opened a found report
at the Jeppe Police Station and went to the stations in Brixton and SophiaTown.
No one is looking for her. Please, She could be your mother or granny.

Please ignore the date on the photo. I have not used my camera for a while. The
photo was taken on Tuesday, 16 February 2010.

OUR SALVATION IS IN THE SUNNAH

Rasoolullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said, “He who holds firm to my
Sunnah when corruption is rampant in my Ummah will attain the reward of a
hundred martyrs.” (al-Bayhaqi )
In another Hadith, Sayyiduna Anas Radhiyallaahu Anhu reports that Rasoolullah
Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam advised, “Whoever cherishes my Sunnah, indeed
he cherishes me and whoever loves me will be with me in Jannah.” (Tirmidhi)
As Muslims, it is our belief that every Sunnah of our beloved Nabi Sallallaahu
Alayhi Wa Sallam is filled with noor (divine light) and blessings of Allah
Ta’aala. It was for this very reason that Allah Ta’aala granted the Sahaabah
Radhiyallaahu Anhum and Muhadditheen capabilities required to preserve the
Sunnah. Alhamdulillah a large amount of authentic literature is available in
which the blessed Sunnah of Rasoolullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam is
preserved to this day for the Ummati (follower) to adopt and implement in his
life.
The Sunnah of Rasoolullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam is not restricted to acts
or places of worship only. Instead, it is comprehensive and covers all aspects
and situations of life such as one’s social and moral conduct, business
dealings,
his dressing, etc. It also applies to all places whether the Musjid, business
place, the home or even while one is on a journey to any far off land. In every
situation, one should draw guidance from the lifestyle of Rasoolullah
Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam thereby turning habits into acts of worship.
Let us make a firm resolution to learn the Sunnah, practice and propagate it.

SINCERE GRATITUTE AND REGRET

Willingness to accept responsibility for the harm we may have caused or express
thankfulness for the benefits we may have received are signs of moral maturity

How uncommon has common courtesy become? "Thank you" and "I'm sorry" are
amazingly powerful expressions that could convey authentic appreciation or
genuine remorse. These are common phrases that are unfortunately becoming
increasingly rare.

"If you give thanks , I will give you more (of My Blessings).'' (Quran 14:7)

The Messenger of Allah [peace be upon him] said :"He who does not thank people,
does not thank Allah". ( Ahmad, Tirmidhi )

One of the most devastating realities has been the fact that people for whom you
truly care and for whom you do the most are often the ones who turn out to be
the most ungrateful. They suffer deliberate amnesia (forgetfulness) and, in the
process, even deny their indebtedness. Those for whom you would stake your
prized privileges are often the ones who later undermine your integrity for the
sake of fame or material gain. Such are they who have no conscience.

Conscience is that internal compass that directs us towards sound moral
judgement. It measures our attitudes and conduct in relation to our ethical
principles. Conscience manifests its judgements with the reward of peace of mind
for those who do what they should, and with the penalty of guilt for those who
don't. If we consider ourselves good, and don't have the decency to do what we
should, then we are not really as good as we think we are.
People of conscience are people of character and good character (akhlaaq) is in
fact ethics in action. People of character have the emotional intelligence to
realize their errors and to acknowledge their indebtedness to others and thus
possess the moral courage to express genuine regret by saying "I'm sorry," or
genuine appreciation by saying "Thank you".

Willingness to accept responsibility for the harm we may have caused or express
thankfulness for the benefits we may have received are signs of moral maturity.
Heartfelt apologies could lead to reconciliation and easing of tension while
sincere expressions of gratitude are valued gifts to people who have privileged
us. Absence of an appropriate thanks or an owed apology could be damaging.

Don't get it wrong, people do sometimes use "Thank you" and "I'm sorry" but
merely as a hollow rule of custom. In one's absence they negate their
thankfulness or regret in the company of others. Such "Thank you " and "Sorry"
means absolutely nothing. We even teach our little kindergarten kids to say
"Thank you" but too often it connotes only formalistic politeness without
nurturing true feelings of gratitude. If we say "Thank you" without really
feeling thankful or "Sorry" without experiencing real regret then these words
merely serve as mindless rituals; just like a wrapped gift box without any gift
inside.
It takes strength of ego and tremendous moral fortitude to comply with ethical
standards of true accountability.

The arrogant and the morally bankrupt do not, therefore, express remorse or
regret easily. Genuine apology arises out of a conscience that values ethical
principles of respect and responsibility. The only kind of apology that truly
merits forgiveness is the apology of those who sincerely acknowledge and accept
personal accountability for their misconduct and genuinely regret the
consequences of their wrongdoings. The Prophet [pbuh]is reported to have said:
"Real regret (nadam) is the basis for true repentance."

The ethical dimension to gratitude demands genuine thankfulness proportionate to
the blessings received, never to deny those blessings nor devalue the worth of
those who so bless us.

The Messenger of Allah Muhammad [peace be upon him] said:"The Merciful One shows
mercy to those who are themselves merciful (to others). So show mercy to
whatever is on earth, then He who is in heaven will show mercy to you " ( Abu
Dawud, Tirmidhi )

Aspects of the Islamic Faith: Who enjoys God’s shelter

When life on earth ends and the Day of Resurrection arrives, all mankind will
be resurrected. They come hurriedly out of their graves to stand in an open
expanse. No one looks at another, because they are all preoccupied with their
own destiny. The sun is brought near and the heat is enormous. They suffer the
heat according to their own deeds. Some of them will be so profusely sweating
that their sweat reaches as high as their knees, or even higher. Yet seven
types of people are immune from that heat. Who are these?
Abu Hurayrah quotes the Prophet (peace be upon him) as saying: “Seven types
shall enjoy God’s shelter on the Day when there is no shelter other than what
He provides:

(1) a just ruler,

(2) a young man who is brought up as a committed worshipper,

(3) a man whose heart always inclines toward mosques,

(4) two friends whose friendship is for God’s service: it is uppermost in
their minds when they meet and when they part,

(5) a man who resists seduction by a woman of power and beauty saying to her,
“I fear God,”

(6) a man who gives something to charity in secret so as his left hand would
not know what his right hand has given away,

(7) and a man who remembers God when alone and his eyes are tearful.”

(Related by Al-Bukhari).

We must first of all make clear that whatever applies to men in this Hadith
also applies to women. When we read this Hadith carefully, we realize that it
speaks of people who are true believers and whose faith is so strong that they
are able to put it ahead of all other considerations. Let us briefly look at
each one of the seven.
There is no doubt that any ruler will be hard pressed to maintain justice in
all situations and all types of dispute. Therefore, a ruler who makes ensuring
justice his priority needs to put up very hard effort not to err against
justice. This ensures for him God’s protection on the Day of Judgment.
Scholars explain that although the Prophet mentions rulers in this Hadith, this
type includes anyone who is in a position of authority over others and
maintains justice between them. Thus it includes every head of a department who
supervises a number of employees, an army officer who commands a number of
soldiers, a company owner or director who ensures justice among his staff, etc.
In fact it also includes a teacher who does not favor certain students over
others and a parent who has several children and treats them equally. The
Prophet says: “The just will be with God, sitting on desks of light, to the
right of the Lord of Grace. These are the ones who maintain justice in their
rulings, and within their families, and with whoever is under their
authority.” (Related by Muslim).
The just ruler is specifically stated here because his rules affect a large
number of people. When he maintains justice and makes it uppermost among his
concerns all his people will benefit.
Young people are often tempted by their strong desires and flowing energy. They
find it hard to resist tempting situations. Therefore, when a young person goes
through youth, adolescence and early adulthood attending to his worship,
preferring always to remain obedient to God, he deserves reward of the richest
type. His resistance of temptation indicates that he is truly God-fearing. The
Prophet says in another Hadith: “God is particularly pleased with a young
person who does not give in to desire.”

may Allah give us the hidayat to follow all this than just read and forget.

"Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) theMessenger
of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all
things."
“You are indeed the best community that has ever been brought forth for
(thegoodof)mankind…”
(33:40)
NabiMuhammad rose like themidday sun fromthe
horizon of Arabia and dissipated the intense darkness around the globe. His
personality embodied the boldness of Moosa , the
courteousness of Haroon , the patience of Ayub ,
the grandeur of Sulaiman and the humility of Isa .
His leadership stands unparalleled in the annals of history. He despised the
pomp of royalty, dutifully carried out the menial tasks of the family; he
kindled
the fire, swept the floor, milked the cows and mended his own shoes and
garments.
(3: 110)
Thebest ofHumankind
The mmah Muslimah derives its identity as the 'best of nations' not from its
biological roots, nor from some kind of royal lineage, nor is it a collaged
brotherhood of a particular race or class. TheummahofMohammed
transcends ancestry, caste, or ethnicity. It derives its
universal imprint from its abiding faith in the Messenger of Allah as the
epitomeofmercy tomankindandas the seal of prophethood.
The address of Ja'far in the court of the king of Abyssinia
aptly reflects how the teachings of Nabi
transformedthe lives of thosewhoembraced his call.Hesaid: "O King, wewere
people steeped in ignorance, worshiping idols, eating carrion, committing all
sorts of disgraceful acts.We did notmake good our obligations to our relatives.
The strong among uswould exploit theweak. Till at last Allah raised a Prophet
for our reformation. His noble descent, upright conduct, integrity of purpose
and pure life are only toowell known among us. He called us unto God thatwe
should testify to His Oneness andworship Him and renouncewhatwe and our
fathers had worshiped in the way of stones and idols. He enjoined upon us
right conduct and forbade us from indecency. He commanded us to speak the
truth, to fulfill our promises, and to respect the ties of kinship and the
rights of
our neighbors,andtorefrain fromcrimesandfrombloodshed…”
(9:128)
Compassion was the hallmark of our leader and Master
The Messenger of Allah said, “People of Paradise are three: a leader
who is generous, spends in charity and is guided to the right course; amanwho
is compassionate, kind to every relative and every Muslim and a poor person
whois virtuous (eventhough) he has dependants.” (Muslim)
Abdullah bin Ja'far narrated that the Messenger of Allah
once sawa camelwhen he entered the compound of an Ansari man. When the
camel saw the Prophet it groaned and shed tears.
The Messenger of Allah approached it and wiped off its tears until it became
quiet. He then said: “Who is the owner of this camel?” Who is the owner of this
camel?” A young Ansari man came and said, “It is me O Messenger of Allah!”
The Prophet then said,
(AbuDawud)
If this was the reaction of the Prophet to the maltreatment of animals, what
was his reaction to a personwho harmed fellowhumans, usurped the rights of
the pooranddid not treat childrenandold people with compassion?
The natural corollary that flows from Prophet Muhammad
as the “seal of prophethood” is that his teachings also serve as the
final and everlasting instruction for man
5:3 This verse refers to Deen ul Islam as both
and . This was one of the last verses revealed
chronologically to Prophet Muhammad , marking
the completion of the Quran and the perfection of Islam. Abdullah ibn Abbas
says that “perfection of faith refers to the perfection of all
limits, obligations, injunctions and refinements in personal and social
behaviours necessary of the True Faith, there is no need to add to it nor is
there
any possibility of a shortfall.” (Ruhul Ma–ani)
The finality of Prophethood is thus inextricably linked to the completion,
perfection and finality of Divine Law. The Sunnah is indivisible fromthe Quran,
for it is the living interpretation of the Quran by Prophet Muhammad
The Quran cannot be understood and
implemented in one's life without the Sunnah. The Sunnah is the prism
through which the Quran is exemplified. “
(al-Darimi)
In fact, most of the finer details of prayer, almsgiving, pilgrimage, and
inheritance laws, etc. were explained by the Prophet
. Abu Huraira relates that he heard Allah's
Messenger say:
Bukhari
andMuslim
This hadeeth clearly states that obedience to the Prophet
is obligatory, regardless of whether or not those commands or
prohibitions appear in the Quran. This means that the Prophet's Sunnah is an
independent source of Islamic Law. This principle is clearly established by
many verses of the Quran. Allah says:
(4:80
The timeless relevance of Divine Law is inextricably linked to the finality of
Prophethood; the final Prophet brought the final message; the final message
by definition must be complete and relevant for all times and under all
circumstances. Hence those who call for the reinterpretation of Quranic law
outside the context of the sunnah invariably compromise their belief in the
finality of prophethood.
May Allah grant our Master and Leader the highest of ranks and may He grant
us the ability topractice, protectandpropagate his teachings.

SLM / Good Day

Ra-ees is turning 12 on the 23 February 2010 and the best birthday gift for him
would be to be able to enjoy his life as a regular 12 year old boy. At present
he is unable to do this as he is undergoing heavy doses of chemotherapy to
fight the Leukaemia he has had to battle with since he was 3 years old. He has
been in remission before but has relapsed twice since then and each time the
chemotherapy takes a huge toll on his body.

He is now in need of a bone marrow transplant as this is his best chance of
survival. Previous e-mails stated that a possible match in the U.K., was being
tested and that we needed financial assistance as it is not covered by the
medical aid. Unfortunately, the donor is no longer an option due to medical
reasons.

The South African Bone Marrow Registry has advised us that a cord blood unit in
the U.S. is the next option. However, the quote for the cord blood unit is
estimated at approximately R312 500,00 (depending on the rate of exchange )
This amount needs to be paid upfront.Thankfully, through the support and
generosity of so many good people, we have been able to raise approximately
R150 000,00.

We would like to say a huge Shukran / thank you to the kindhearted individuals
who have supported our fund-raising efforts and appeal to all those who would
like to help us reach our target. Fund-raising ideas are most welcome.

We would really appreciate it if you could forward this mail to your contacts.

Yours Sincerely,
Sumaya Khan (mother of Ra-ees)

The beauty of …Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi Raaji’oon

The meaning of " Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilahi Raaji’oon" & seven names of Allah

Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi Raaji’oon

Yeah, sure we say this statement when someone dies. Also some of us may say this
sentence when they lose something, suffer a setback or harm. But………..do you
know what it means?

Sure, everyone know that it obviously means ‘To Allah we belong and to Him is
our return.’

But that’s not what I am talking about.

I mean ….do you REALLY, TRULY understand these words and their implications in
a Muslim’s life?

It means …whatever we have is not really ours. It belongs to Allah.

Take a look around you; everything you see, all that you have and all that
there is….in you, on you, around you….belongs to Allah, alone.
It is Allah Who has given you all the property and goods you possess, and that
He is the true Owner of them all.

So the cars that you own, the houses that you live in, the businesses you
possess all truly belong to Allah. The kids that He blessed you with, the
health that He gave you, the time that He has allowed you are all Allah’s
property. Even the bodies we live in and the life that we have belongs to Allah
alone.

"And to Allah belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth…." (Surah
Aale-Imraan:180)

"The kingdom of the heavens and the earth and everything in them belongs to
Allah. He has power over all things." ( Surat al-Ma’ida: 120)

‘Say: ‘To Allah belongs the East and the West…’ (Surah al-Baqarah:142)

Now, since everything belongs to Allah, then we have to include even our souls
in that list..

The very souls that we think of as our "self"; our "nafs"; our "being" —
whatever you want to call it — that very thing that distinguishes you from the
rest of the world, belongs to Allah. It’s not YOURS.

In fact, YOU are not YOURS.
You belong to Allah.

And this is the essence of the concept of slavery to Allah in Islam.

Then we have to be careful of how we use HIS property…it may be the children
upbringing or the time, or the wealth or even the house you live in….think
before doing any action!!!!!

And since He is the true Possessor of everything, and everything is His
property, He allots what He wills to whomever He wills…A 6.and then He takes it
away. After all, it was Allah’s to begin with.

So He may give you some thing and then take it back after a while..
He will bless you with a precious child that you love dearly…and then He may
take it away. He will grant you money, honour and status…..and then He may take
it away. He will give you youth, vitality and health and then surely He will
take it away.

In fact everything you have will only be with you for a very short while.
And then the Owner will claim His Right.

So when Allah does reclaim what was rightfully His, WHY MOURN OUR LOSSES?

Just like a friend who lends you his book. And then after a few days, he wants
it back and you give it back to him…no regrets…..no sorrow….no questions asked.

Similarly, if Allah takes back some of His blessings upon you for some
reason….so be it.

Say Alhamdulillah.

Don’t grieve.

Be patient.

Submit to the will of Allah, being pleased with His decision for you. For
surely He will only do what is best for you.

Just think…..The Owner came and took it back.

Remember….that you’re not the real owner…..you were NEVER the real owner to
begin with. You only had everything because it was Allah who gave it to you in
the first place. If He didn’t give it to you, you wouldn’t have had it in any
way…in fact, you couldn’t have had it.

Remember….man enters into this world empty handed…and leaves it empty handed.

Remember….that everything we have, all the blessings we enjoy, are gifts from
Almighty Allah….gifts that we enjoy for a limited period until He takes them
away whenever He deems fit.

They are a trust from Allah…a loan to you…to see how you respond to these gifts
from Allah and how you use them….in the obedience of the Almighty, thanking Him
and worshipping Him……OR………to the disobedience to the One Who gave then to you
in the first place.

The eyes beholding this message shall not behold evil, The hands that will send
this message to others shall not labour in vain, The mouth saying Ameen to this
Dua shall laugh forever, Remain in Allah’s love as you send this Dua to
everybody on your list.

The Muslim Students Association (UKZN-PMB) together with The South African
Muslim Network (SAMNET) cordially invite fellow South Africans who have
experienced the rigours of an evil ideology, to wit apartheid, which at the
best of times was scripturally defended, to meet with renowned Palestinian
Author and a veteran US-Arab journalist Ramzy Baroud so as to understand
through an unadulterated exchange what Palestinians face daily at the hands of
an ideologically driven Israel.
Ramzy Baroud’s recently published book: “My father was a Freedom Fighter-
Gaza’s Untold Story” will be released in KWZULU NATAL this week, a book that
Richard Falk, UN Special Rapporteur for Occupied Territories described as a
“must read” because, in Falk's own words, it tells [one] why “anyone of
conscience must stand in solidarity with the Palestinian peoples’ struggle for
self determination and a just peace”.

PERMISSIBLE LOVE

Love is any of a number of emotions related to a sense of strong affection
and attachment. Love usually refers to a deep ineffable feeling of tenderly
caring for another person.
One of the great expositions of Almighty Allah’s divinity is the creation of
the spouse. Some relationships can only be nurtured with love. Some
need added compassion or loyalty.
Encapsulating all of the above, Allah Ta’aala says:
“And of the signs of His (power) is that He has created for you spouses
from your own kind, so that you may attain tranquility there from. He has
also created between you (the spouses) love and compassion. Indeed in
these are signs for those who ponder.” (Surah Rum: 21)
Once, upon learning of some husbands abusing their wives, Nabi
Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “The best of you is he who is the best
towards his wife” (Sahih Ibn Hibbaan)
Love, like every other thing, is despised only when applied in the incorrect
manner. But if it is articulated in the proper way, one is actually rewarded
for it.
Despite his unimaginable burden of Prophethood and Leadership,
“Whenever Rasoolullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam would be at home, he
would always have a smile on his blessed face.” (Tabaqaat Ibn Sa’d) He
would assist in the daily chores. (Sahih Bukhari #676)
Did such acts of love ever cross our minds?!
